Literature Text

So this weekend you chose to die.
You just got on your bike and road away.
We all know you were speeding and not paying much attention
because we know you think you are invinsible.
My wedding is this Friday.
Remember, it was almost yours too,
but life didn't take us that way
and now life has taken you away.
We were such good friends,
and you were almost engaged again.
You were supposed to bring her to the wedding.
Did you have to go and die?
You are 24 years old, and dead.
This is something that happens to someone else's friend.
Summer found the ring last night, where you hid it.
She had to FIND IT!
You never gave it to her, but she knows what it means.
You already wrecked that bike once, and I begged you not to get on again.
You made the choice.
You could have just driven slowly, and been careful.
You made the choice.
You could have just stayed home with her.
You made the choice.
You could have but you didn't.
You made the choice.
You chose to die.
Not many people get to say that.
Our choices always effect our lives,
but yours caused your death.
That high of speed on the ride of death
caused us on earth to grieve and question our choices.
I choose to live.
I choose to love.
I choose to mourn.
I choose to miss you.
I love you
even though
you chose
to die.
I'm no great writer or anything, but my best friend died this weekend...and it was pretty traumatizing. He died in a motorcycle accident, so this is pure emotion speaking.
